Meet the Coach

Kelsie Monroe began her softball career where most young girls do, by playing PAL Softball. She instantly fell in love with the sport and wanted to push herself to become the best pitcher she could be. With the help of her dad, Ed Monroe, Kelsie began to dedicate much of her time to practice. From pitching on a real softball field to pitching in her backyard, there wasn't a place her and her father wouldn't practice. She learned new pitches, correct forms, and important fundamentals needed to advance her to the next level. As her skills improved, Kelsie went from playing PAL Softball, to playing on her Junior High team, to playing on the Varsity Softball Team at Los Banos High School. Once there, she would help lead her team to multiple victories and accomplishments as the starting pitcher.

However, her softball career didn't end after high school. Kelsie went on to pitch at San Joaquin Delta College for one year before transferring to CSU Bakersfield, where she would finish the remaining three years of college. There, she quickly became a key member of her Division 1 softball team, and showcased her pitching abilities against some of the most skilled collegiate softball teams in the nation. She was honored to receive multiple accolades for her work as a college pitcher. From being named WAC Pitcher of the Year as a senior in college to receiving Academic All-Conference Honors as a sophomore in high school, her pitching skills gained her recognition wherever she played.

She served as the Assistant Pitching Coach for Azusa Pacific University in 2016 & 2017 while earning her masters degree. She was recently hired to be the Pitching Coach for Division 1 Grand Canyon University.
